 Pipes heating

Radiant heating systems, installed in a wall or under floor, provide the homeowner with a heating system which minimizes cold drafts and air leaks. PEX piping is the preferred material for use in these systems through out Europe and North America. The flexibility of PEX piping allows it to be easily laid out in a way which insures even heat across an entire room or area.
Despite some disadvantages in comfort and energy efficiency radiator heating systems are still commonly installed. PEX based piping is increasing being specified over steel and copper for these installations.

The widespread introduction of multi-layer pipes with an aluminium inner layer has accelerated this trend.
Although the PEX piping is highly resistant to corrosion the boiler and other components used in heating systems must be protected. This protection is provided by limiting the amount of oxygen that enters the system by using barrier layers, typically of EVOH or aluminium, in the construction of the pipe. Polidan® PEX compounds are particularly well suited for producing multi-layer piping systems incorporating barrier layers of EVOH and Aluminum.
