Polidan® compounds are used to produce pipes to be in contact with drinking water, as certified by all the Sanitary Institutes of the countries where our customers sell for this application.
Padanaplast compound is certified by the National Sanitation foundation (NSF) in the
USA. These certificates are based on the Standard 61, which has established a series of requirements for the control of potential adverse human effects from products in contact with water. Product evaluations involve a formulation review of all water contact materials, chemical extraction testing, toxicological evaluation and manufacturing facility audits. These certificates on the compound mean that NSF checks the approved formulation every year with audits without pre-announcement, so constancy of quality and of formulation composition is ensured.
Several National Sanitary Institutes (e.g. DVGW, KIWA, CSTB, AENOR, NSF, IIP, SVGW, OEVGW, BBA, etc.) have found pipes produced with Padanaplast PEXb acceptable for a use in contact with both cold and hot water, and the formulation of our Polidan grades is in accordance with the existing positive lists.
