 Fittings requirements

Fittings produced with polymers have been tested according the requirements of this application, and it has been demonstrated that they meet these requirements.

  To be tested :

 According to…

  Hydrostatic Burst Strength

DGVW W534 - must withstand 15 bars for 48 h at 95°C without leakage

  Hydrostatic Sustained Pressure Strength

DGVW 534- Creep under at 80° C for 1,000 hours. For material subject to hydrolysis special  tests are required

  Thermocycling

DGVW W534 - System will not leak when cycled 5,000 times from 20°C to 95°C at 10 bars internal pressure. Duration of each cycle is 30 minutes total. Internal fluid is water.

  Hydrostatic Design Stresses (LTHS)

ISO 1167 / ISO TR9080 - Determines the LTHS capability of materials using in plumbing systems. Hoop stress determination of materials for fittings are incorporated in fitting design. Testing exceed 10,000 hours duration at elevated temperatures

  Chlorine Resistance Testing

None Specified - Under consideration with an ISO committee

  Service Conditions

DGVW 534 - 60°C for 8,710 hours and 85°C for 50 hours. Pressure 0-10 bar. Uses LTHS data and a minimum safety factor of 1.5

  Pressure Surge Testing

DGVW W-534 - 1-25 bars at room temperature. 30 cycles/s 10,000 cycles

  Chemical Compatibility

DGVW W534 - Thread sealants that can cause stress cracking must not be used

  Vibrational Stress

DGVW W534 - 1MM cycles at 20 Hz and 1 mm deflection with specific piping design

Reverse Bending (special test, not required for all connectors

DGVW W534 - 10 mm deflection at 15 Hz for 20 minutes with 2 minute rest - repeated 333 times

  Water Hammer Test

10,000 cycles from 1-25 bars at 30 Hz at 20°C

- requirements according to European standards
- requirements according to US standards
